2. Adrianna Polhemus (Rev. Johannes Theodorus1) was born about 1644 in Prob. On The Island Of Itamarca, Brazil 1 and died before 1702 in Bergen, NJ 1.

Adrianna married Jan Roeloffsen Sebring, son of Roelof Lukassen Seberinge, about 1661 in Flatbush, Kings County, NY 1. Jan was born in 1631 in Beyle, Drenthe, Netherlands 1 and died in 1703 7.

General Notes: Jan emigrated to America with his brother-in-law Steven Coerte Van Voorhees aboard [IT:De Bonte Koe:IT] in April 1660. He settled in Flatbush, L.I., and attended the Dutch Church there where his father-in-law preached. On March 6, 1674, he conveyed to the Rev. Polhemus 24 morgens of land in Flatbush which he had bought of Cornelius Smallwood and on May 17, 1681, he sold the balance of his property there and removed to Bergen, N.J. On Oct. 2, 1682, he and his wife were received into the Dutch Church there by certificate from the church in Midwout (Bergen Dutch Church recs.).

+ 12 F    ii. Ida Sebring was born about 1664 in Flatbush, Long Island, Kings County, NY 1 and died in 1709 in Six Mile Run, Somerset County, NJ 11.
   13 M    iii. Lucas Janse Sebring was born about 1666 in Flatbush, Long Island, Kings County, NY 1.

Lucas married Marritje Dorlandt on 25 Apr 1690 in Bergen, NJ 13. Marritje Dorlandt was baptized on 11 Apr 1672 13 Another name for Marritje was Marytje Dorlandt.

   14 M    iv. Johannes Janse Sebring 1 was born about 1673 in Long Island, NY 14 and died in 1744 in Somerset County, NJ 14.

Johannes married Caeltje Leffertse.

+ 15 M    v. Roelof Janse Sebring was born about 1675 in Flatbush, Long Island, Kings County, NY 1.
   16 F    vi. Elizabeth Sebring was baptized on 8 Jun 1677 in Brooklyn Dutch Church 1.
   17 M    vii. Daniel Sebring was born on 17 Oct 1680 15, was baptized on 2 Jul 1682 1 and died in 1763 15.
+ 18 F    viii. Mary Sebring was born in 1685 in Bergen, NJ 16.
3. Theodorus Polhemus (Rev. Johannes Theodorus1) was born about 1646 in Island Of Itamarca, Pernambuco, Brazil 3 and died on 2 May 1722 in Jamaica, Long Island, NY 4.

General Notes: In 1656, Theodorus travled from Brazil to NY with his mother and sisters.

Theodorus married Aertje Teunise Bogaert, daughter of Teunis Gysbertse Bogaert and Sarah Joris Rapelje, on 14 Oct 1677 in Dutch Church, Flatbush, Kings County, Long Island, NY 5. Aertje was born in 1655 in New Amsterdam, Manhatten, NY 17 and died after 1721 17.

5. Anna Polhemus (Rev. Johannes Theodorus1) was born about 1649 in Prob. On The Island Of Itamarca, Brazil 1 and died after 1702 1.

Anna married Cornelis Barentse Van Wyck about 1667 1. Cornelis was born on 11 Apr 1641 26 and died on 23 Jun 1713 26.

General Notes: Cornelis was the progenitor of the Van Wyck family in this country. He was a native of Holland and came to New Netherland abt. 1660 and settled in Midwout. His name appears on the tax list as early as 1664 and he was allotted meadows in Canarsie (now a part of Brooklyn) in 1668. He was chosen Constable of Flatbush in 1675, and he took the Oath of Allegiance to William, Prince of Orange, on Sept. 26, 1687, at which time he stated that he had been in this country twenty-seven years. He was living as late as 1712 as he was a witness on May 12th of that year at the marriage of his youngest daughter Adriantje. Cornelius & Anna (Polhemus) Van Wyck had seven children, all Bap. in the Flatbush Dutch Church unless otherwise stated.

   29 M    iii. Johannes Van Wyck was baptized on 17 Jan 1677 in Flatbush Dutch Church, Long Island, NY 5 and died in 1734 26.

Johannes married Phebe Cortwright.

   30 F    iv. Aeltje Van Wyck was baptized on 5 Oct 1679 in Flatbush Dutch Church, Long Island, NY 5.
   31 F    v. Anna Van Wyck was baptized on 9 Jul 1682 in Brooklyn Dutch Church 27.

Anna married Philip Juriaense Nagel.

   32 F    vi. Elizabeth Van Wyck was baptized on 16 Jan 1685 in Flatbush Dutch Church, Long Island, NY 27.

Elizabeth married Adrian Hegeman. Adrian Hegeman died in Aug 1762 26.

+ 33 F    vii. Adriantje Van Wyck was baptized on 9 Sep 1688 in Flatbush Dutch Church, Long Island, NY 27.
6. Maragrietje Polhemus (Rev. Johannes Theodorus1) was born about 1660 in Probably In Midwout 5 and died before 1702 in Flatbush, Kings County, NY 5.

General Notes: As neither she nor her husband executed the 1702 deed made by the heirs of her father and mother, it seems probable that the following children listed by Tunis Bergen in his "Early Settlers of Kings County", 1881, pp. 73-74, are those of a second marriage of her husband.

Maragrietje married William Gillemse Cornell, son of Guilliame Cornell and Maria (?) Cornell. William Gillemse Cornell died in May 1690 in Flatbush, Kings County, NY.

Johannes married Lammetje Brinckerhoff.

   35 M    ii. Peter Willemse , died on 31 May 1691 in New York 12.

Catherine married Johannes Fonteyn on 27 Aug 1690.

   38 M    v. Cornelis Willemsen Cornel , died in Sep 1756 26.

Cornelis married Jannetje Hegeman.

   39 F    vi. Rachel Willemse , died on 12 Jan 1693 12.
   40 F    vii. Sarah Willemse .

Sarah married Albert Coerten Van Voorhees.

8. Capt. Daniel Polhemus (Rev. Johannes Theodorus1) was born about 1662 in Flatbush, Kings County, NY 5 and died about 1730 in Flatbush, Kings County, NY 4.

General Notes: Captain of the troops of King's County, and supervisor of Flatbush in 1705. He was, afterwards, County Judge.

Daniel married Neeltje Cornelise Vanderveer, daughter of Cornelius Jansen Dominicus Vanderveer and Tryntje Gillis Mandeville, on 13 Aug 1685 in Flatbush Dutch Church, Long Island, NY 4.

+ 45 M    v. Daniel Polhemus was baptized on 29 Nov 1695 in Brooklyn Dutch Church 28 and died after 1753 in Millstone, Somerset County, NJ.
